Appetite for Nutrition dietitians are registered providers of the NDIS. We work with clients under the NDIS to improve their health, wellbeing and independence.
Our experienced dietitians have worked with a wide range of disabilities, including and not limited to, vision, hearing, sensory and speech impairment, intellectual disabilities, learning and cognitive disabilities (.e.g autism spectrum disorder), neuro-degenerative diseases (e.g. motor neuron disease), psychiatric and mental health conditions (e.g. schizophrenia) and physical disabilities (e.g. multiple sclerosis).
We can work with those who are:

- Plan managed
In your NDIS plan, dietetic services can be claimed under the following groups:
- Improved Health & Wellbeing
- Improved Daily Living
- Assistance with Daily life
Our friendly and skilled Dietitians provide services in our clinics located throughout Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo & Mildura and home visits to participants living within 100km radius of these cities.
For NDIS participants living outside of these areas, we are able to consult via telephone, Skype or Zoom.
Who do we see?
Dietitians support people with disabilities for a range of reasons, including:
- Support and education in eating a nutritious diet
- Underweight or excess weight gain which impacts on physical or social function
- Supporting growth and development in children and adolescence
- Pressure injuries (e.g. poor wound healing, pressure sores)
- Non-oral feeding and tube weaning (such as PEG feeding)
- Supportive diets for difficulties with chewing and swallowing
- Fussy or picky eating, food refusal or limited range of foods eaten which can lead to nutritional deficiencies and poor social or participation outcomes.
- Gastrointestinal issues (reflux, constipation, loose stools, lack of fibre/fluid)
What services can our dietitians provide you?
- Practical healthy eating advice
- Chronic disease management (including diabetes, high cholesterol, neurodegenerative disease, stroke, kidney disease, gastrointestinal conditions)
- Assistance with managing Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) and nutritional supplements for PEG feeds.
- Nutrition assistance for texture modified diets such as soft and puree.
- Advice for overweight, underweight or malnutrition
- Meal planning, recipes and meal ideas
- Meal preparation and cooking (we can provide cooking classes in the home)
- Healthy supermarket tours
- Training and education for carers
