Carly Hughes

As the founder and director of Appetite for Nutrition, Carly has experience within the private and community sector and has successfully helped many individuals to increase their nutrition knowledge and achieve their healthy lifestyle goals.

Carly believes, “Healthy eating shouldn’t be…  creating rules, depriving yourself, dieting, or never enjoying your favourite foods again. Healthy eating is…. having a healthy relationship with your food and body. Reset the way you think, remove those demonizing labels from food such as ‘bad foods’ or ‘bad for me’, and rather listen to your body, be intuitive, and enjoy all foods mindfully.

Previous to Appetite for Nutrition, Carly has been involved in multiple community programs, including volunteering her time as a healthy supermarket tour leader for Diabetes Victoria, and her employment at Victoria University, where she supervised students deliver cooking classes and nutrition presentations to a wide range of community members including intellectually disabled, youth and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD).

Carlys special interests include educating and supporting individuals with their weight loss goals, heart health and diabetes management. Other areas of expertise include the wide world of gastrointestinal health, conditions and disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, diverticulitis to name a few.

Sammie Lyne

Sammie is a compassionate and empathetic dietitian. Her ultimate goal is to simplify nutrition for our community and to ensure that nutrition is an enjoyable part of our lives, rather than a stressor.

With a background in delivering engaging group education sessions to adults at risk of diabetes and heart disease. Sammie is passionate about the power of nutrition in prevention and management of disease. Sammie Understands there is no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition and does not promote restrictive meal plans or food rules. Instead she will work with you, as a team, to set and achieve your personalized nutrition goals.

Sammie’s key interest areas are working with people:

  • In the management of type 1, type 2, gestational and pre-diabetes
  • Transitioning to, or already following, a vegetarian, vegan or plant based diet.
  • Who are tired of fad diets and looking to find a  more balanced peaceful relationship with food.

Other areas of support include the management of; high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal issues and nutrition for the elderly.

Liz Radicevic

Liz believes it is crucial to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to lead a happy and healthy life. Liz prides herself in providing professional health advice that is realistic to an individual’s lifestyle and implementing changes that make a real difference. She has a passion for providing evidence-based advice to ensure that her clients receive the most up to date information.

Liz has a specific interest within Sports Nutrition, as well as chronic disease management. Liz also works for the VFL Casey Demons as their Dietitian, where she provides nutrition support on game day, whilst supporting players with their individual nutrition needs.

In addition to privately consulting, Liz enjoys cooking to ensure she is well versed in different recipes, sharing these and nutrition tips on her Instagram @radnutrition. Liz has had an interest in cooking ever since she was a young girl and as she has grown older, has wanted to explore the link between food and its impact on health. Keeping fit and healthy is one of Liz’s priorities. In her spare time, you will find her in the kitchen, doing pilates, playing netball and going for scenic walks with friends and family. Here, Liz would like to make a positive impact on people’s lives now, and into the future.
